Volunteer: Receptionist

We are looking for a Volunteer that could commit to once a week coming out and being a volunteer receptionist. You will be the first face both those in need and those looking to help will see. Love INC stands for Love In the Name of Christ and that is what we need that first face to be. While we offer many opportunities that don't require a strong commitment this is a hard position for us to fill as we are looking for a commitment. Now there are things that come up and we understand that. We are looking for someone who could fill one of our shift times and be there most of the time.

Volunteer: Data Entry

The Lakeshore Housing Alliance (LHA) is seeking a volunteer interested in providing weekly data entry services.

The LHA is responsible for ensuring a variety of services are available to households in housing crisis. To better determine need, a case manager assists each homeless household seeking services in completing a vulnerability index. The information on the index must then be entered into the database but the LHA currently lacks the capacity to enter the data in a timely fashion. The length of time each week varies depending on how many surveys have been completed but the commitment would be no more than one hour each week. Data entry would be completed at the Good Sam office, 513 E. 8th Street.

Two, one hour long training podcasts are required for this volunteer opportunity. Data entered is confidential.

Volunteer: Grant Writer/Fundraising

As a non-profit, low budget agency, Heritage Homes, Inc. manages several programs that rely heavily on additional funding streams and financial resources to support their continuation.  The programs which depend the most on these supplemental finances are the children's Smith Respite Program and Adult and Children's Community Living Supports Programs.  These programs provide a vital support to families and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

A volunteer grant writer would work closely with the Director of Children's and Community Supports, in order to learn the needs of the programs and assist in seeking out foundations and grant opportunities, and then writing grant proposals to fund special projects and/or specific resource needs.  Experience writing formal grant proposals is a plus.

The agency would also be open and excited to collaborate with an organization or group that would like to facilitate efforts to raise additional, but necessary funds for the above mentioned programs in need.  Please feel free to contact us if your group is interested in a community collaborative with Heritage Homes, Inc.

Volunteer: Daytime Enrichment Friends

Heritage Homes, Inc. operates an adult Daytime Enrichment Program for individuals with developmental disabilities.  This program strives to provide opportunities for individuals to socialize and interact with the local community, while engaging in meaningful activities on a regular basis.  We are seeking community members that would be interested in giving time to spend with these participants, socializing and participating in activities side by side one another.

Though our agency's main office is in Holland, we currently have two site locations for this particular program in Coopersville and in Allendale.  We are seeking volunteers for both sites, to engage with participants in various activities.  The programs primary hours of operation are Monday thru Friday 830a-230p. We can work with you to determine how you can help, what opportunities will work best for you and what level of time commitment you would be interested in to befriend the program and its participants.
